Villa Ariola Climate Change Action Plan
Bill and Lynn acknowledge that Villa Ariola causes emissions and are introducing a responsible and sustainable environmental management plan.
Measure. In November 2021, we measured our annual energy usage and emission, providing a baseline from which to reduce year on year.
Reduce. Each business needs to reduce emissions by 50% by 2030 to keep the hope of the 1.5 degrees C limit alive. Our commitment is 100% emissions reduction by 2027, with the ambition to be Carbon Positive by 2030
Communicate this environmental policy and encourage environmental best practices with all employees.
Publish this policy statement for all interested parties on the Villa Ariola website.
Comply with all applicable environmental legislation.
Kilometre Zero. Expand our organic garden. Continue to promote local businesses, source products and consider environmental factors in all purchasing and supplier contracts.
Waste management. Take all practical measures to reduce waste in landfills by adopting an ‘eliminate, reduce, re-use, recycle’ approach to waste management.
Water management. We have our own 56m deep well, clean water treatment and sewage treatment plants. Reducing water consumption will reduce the energy consumed to pump and treat.
Adopt the practice of responsible energy management through reduced consumption and the encouragement of energy efficiency throughout the business.
Offset all flights guests take to visit Villa Ariola and encourage guests to match our offset, making Guests' Flights Carbon Positive.
Transport. Encourage the use of Electric vehicles, Trains, cycling and walking.
